This exhibition marked the 10th anniversary of Wakobo Hoyou, the Kyoto-based mizuhiki atelier directed by Eriko Morita.
Held across three venues in Kyoto, the exhibition was structured around distinct themes.
At Unsodo, under the theme “Enjoying Mizuhiki,” works previously introduced through Morita’s mizuhiki classes were presented.
At Sakaimachi Gallery, “Carrying on Tradition” featured seasonal ornaments, betrothal decorations, and longevity celebrations, incorporating traditional mizuhiki folding practices into contemporary living.
At Torii Co., Ltd., under the theme “The Possibilities of Mizuhiki,” the exhibition centered on the “Mizuhiki Light” series, where knotting techniques were freely developed to create an atmospheric and immersive space.
